Brief look at plus size jeans and short shorts
For a while now I have noticed most of the sales and discounts by Baby Phat, Dereon, Apple Bottoms and Rocawear usually change on Thursday afternoon, around 3 p.m..
This week I think Dereon’s Buy 1 Get 1 and 25% off any 1 full price item are especially nice. You will find direct links to those at the top of, and other similar sales and discounts in the right column of our urban fashion page.
Also very nice this week is Baby Phat’s 25% off select shoes, (They have new footwear in too!) and
Get an Extra 20% Off select sale dresses and jumpers!

None of that last paragraph is especially surprising, but here is something that might be:
Over the last 6 months, I have gathered, from my experience, quite a bit of info about Baby Phat Plus Size Jeans, compared to their average sized jeans and also their average sized short shorts.
I hope that in the near future I will be able to get that together in an article, as I have actually measurements for us.
I do mean us, because I will likely refer back to it myself before ordering more of either.
The important part to know is:
At least with Baby Phat,
The average women’s waistband falls under my belly button, but not enough to be unattractive!
However, there is no room for the deep pockets in the average women’s jeans that seem to be standard in their plus size jeans. Sad for me, because I really like the pockets, but an getting the hang of carting a handbag around…
Also, the leg cut on the shorts will cut in a bit.
Just to inspire a bit more exercise before next summer and fit my backside perfectly for a change, as do the jeans.
If you are a woman with a inverted triangle shaped full figure body, as I am, this might be welcome change for you too. Skinny jeans or shorts! This may also be true for apple shaped women, though I cannot really say.
I bring this up now because if you are interested in short shorts:
These Apple Bottoms shorts are on sale at $16, likely until tomorrow at 3 pm, but just as likely again later too!
If you click on them, you will find them available in two colors in average women’s sizes up to 15/16.
If you go to Apple Bottoms using this picture link, look directly under the picture of these shorts there, in the center you will find Size Chart.
It tells us that a size 13/14 has a waist of 31 inches, hips of 45.5 to 46.5 inches.
From there you can estimate as to whether the sizes large than that will work for you!
To me, these are the nicest deals, that will probably be changing tomorrow regards to trendy plus size fashions.
